It all began when my mother and stepfather brought home a lilac Burmese male kitten - his name was Taj Mahals Amadeus. Amadeus was a wonderful companion for me as a child, he was the one to whom I confessed all my secrets and also donated his fur when I was sad and crying my eyes out with my head burried deep in his stomach.
When I got older and moved away from home and my mother then was alone with Amadeus, she decided to rehome him to an elderly couple who also got a female Burmese companion for Amadeus. Those two were inseperable, untill Amadeau was hit by a car...

A bit later, in May 1992, I got my first Burmese - a chocolate male (that was neutered early on) called Ganja's Kasjan - and we quickly realized that Burmese are meant to have cat company, so 6 months later Dizzy followed! Kasjan was put to sleep at the age of 7 years old due to illness - he is still very much missed by us!

In 1993, after we had attended a couple of shows as exhibitors and had become "addicted" to it, we decided to have yet another Burmese - this time a female (who knew, it might be fun to have a litter of kittens or two...), and then Pencena Olivia (seal tortie) moved in with us. In 1994 our pedigree name was registred and on February 12. 1995 our A-litter was born!

Over the times some of our beloved cats have had to be rehomed because they have not thrived completely with us (particularly the other cats). It is never an easy decision to make, but when you later see a cat, who was perhaps low in the hierarchy here, ruling it's new home with a firm paw you find that it was definately the right decision!

Recently our cat family is extended with first one, then two and now three lovely Abyssinians - they go great with the Burmese, in spite of their somewhat different approach to life!

We also moved to a house from our appartement in June 2003 - it is so great to finally have a fenced garden for the cats to run in (pictures from the cats first day in the garden - sorry all text is in Danish, but pictures are universal...)

Best regards,
Camilla Scharff & Bent Nielsen
