Mary is our first "home
made" Abyssinian!
Another ruddy girl that we just could not resist. Mary is clearly influenced by
being brought up among a sizeable amount of Burmese as her "cuddling-gene" is
much more developed compared to our other Aby's (our two other aby-girls are now
rehomed as they prefered not living with so many other cats). She is often found in a large
pile of cats, always in the middle :-)
Besides that she has typical Aby-temperment, always happy, very active and will
join in on a game at any time! Mary is quite elegant and
has shown some good results on the show bench - see results below.
Mary became a mom for the first time on July 20. 2004 - one stayed with us,
Black Celebration, the other kittens have now found new homes. Mary was an
excellent mom who gave birth like a pro and took great care of her kittens -
only problem with her was that she did not want the kittens to stay in our
bedroom, so when they were only 2½ weeks old, she moved them to our living room
(with open kitchen) to stay with the other cats and all the noises etc. of our
every day life. I wasn't planning on that before the kittens were 4-5 weeks old
- but there is no arguing with a determined cat-mother as mother knows best!
